POLICE allege a man was driving a stolen vehicle when he hit a 51-year-old woman on Christmas Day.
The woman, from Yarraman, north of Toowoomba, was found dead along the New England Highway at Yarraman about 11.40pm on Monday, the Toowoomba Chronicle reports.
A 24-year-old Kingaroy man was charged over the death after being arrested in Murgon on Tuesday.
The man was allegedly driving a stolen vehicle at the time of the incident. He was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and failing to stop at the scene of a crash.
He was due to appear in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning via video link.
