A 20-year-old Queensland police officer has been charged in relation to child exploitation material.

The 20-year-old male constable from the Southern Region has been charged with one count of use carriage service to access child abuse material and use carriage service to transmit, make available or promote child abuse material.

The member has been suspended from the Queensland Police Service and is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 21, 2024.

“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when a member of the Service faces serious allegations of misconduct,” the Queensland Police Service said in a statement.

“This does not mean that the allegations against the member have been substantiated.”
