Five Queensland hotels have scored places in the top 10 list of Australia’s best hotels of 2018. But, while some of the entries charge an average of $1500 a night, one of the Sunshine State entries comes in at a tenth of that price.
Ovolo Woolloomooloo was crowned the best hotel in Australia by customer experience, followed by its sister hotel Ovolo 1888 at Darling Harbour in third, but while Queensland hotels didn’t make the top three, they dominated the list, with five entries.
TripAdvisor names 2017’s best Aussie hotels
Making up the top three in the annual TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award, which collates the year of reviews and turns them into a Top 10, was Pinetrees Lodge on Lord Howe Island.
It was the second most expensive destination behind Queensland’s Qualia Resort, which charges an average of $1508 a night.
In stark contrast to that, Queensland’s surprising second-highest entry came in at a budget-friendly $157 a night.
