A man in his 50s has been taken to hospital after he was reportedly attacked by a goanna at a Mountain Creek home on December 27.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics were called to the Causeway Court home at 1.27pm to reports he had been injured in the attack.

The man suffered leg injuries, the spokeswoman said, and was taken to Caloundra Hospital in a stable condition.

It comes after a young boy was bitten by a snake at Maroochydore on the same day.

Back in 2019, Channel 9 reported a Toogoolawah man was attacked by a goanna while trying to rescue a family of peacocks and a paramedic who came to the man’s aide was also attacked.

That came after a girl, 8, was attacked by a goanna in January, 2019, at a South Stradbroke Island campsite.
