Motorcyclist critical after Ipswich crash, pedestrian fighting for life after hit by car

A woman is in hospital in a life-threatening condition after she was hit by a vehicle in Ipswich on Monday morning.

Emergency services were called to Emma Street at Deebing Heights around 11.19am following reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

The woman suffered head, chest and pelvic injuries.

She was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

It’s understood the driver of the vehicle was not physically injured and did not require assessment.

Meanwhile, a man is fighting for life after a crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle on the Ipswich Motorway earlier on Monday.

Emergency services were called to the westbound lanes at Gailes about 5.40am following reports of the collision.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, suffered life-threatening chest injuries and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Traffic delays followed the crash but have since cleared.

Further south, a man in his 20s is in a critical condition following a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian on a motorway in Logan.

Emergency services were called to the westbound lanes of the Logan Motorway at around 12.47pm following reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian.

The man sustained a life-threatening head injury in the accident.

He was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Drivers on the Logan Motorway are experiencing delays of up to one hour as a result of the crash.

This is the third serious crash in south of Brisbane in just seven hours. It comes after the state faced a horrific week on roads last week, with 16 Queenslanders losing their lives on Queensland roads.
