A man has been rushed to hospital with a serious injury after he was stabbed at a Brisbane home on Saturday night.
Emergency services were called to the stabbing at a home on Whyalla Close, Bracken Ridge at 7pm.
Initial information suggests a 37-year-old Darra man received a stab wound to the chest and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A 33-year-old Darra man understood to be involved in the incident was taken to hospital under police guard due to a medical condition and is assisting police with enquiries.
It is understood the two men are known to each other and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
Bracken Ridge resident Alanna Stevens made the triple-zero call after hearing shouting and glass smashing.
“It escalated very quickly, the voices and the smashing,” Ms Stevens said.
“I saw him fall to the ground and he was bleeding from the abdomen.
“There was a bloodied-handprint left on my driveway.”
Ms Stevens described the scene as confronting.
“Watching a guy bleed out on your front lawn is not what anyone wants to see,” she said.
“The sheer presence of the police and the police activity, the stress and commotion of it all was full on.”
