König’s Biergarten Toowoomba to close in three weeks

Lovers of German beer have just three weeks to get their fill with the owners of this iconic venue saying they are closing down to focus their energies on a range of other businesses that are taking off.

Owner Aaron Goldie said he will close König’s Biergarten in three weeks.

König’s Biergarten Toowoomba will call last drinks for good as the owners close the Walton Stores venue to focus on their other businesses.

Owner Aaron Goldie said he wasn’t sad to close the business as the other opportunities were growing and needed his full attention.

“We have been there for six years and we are the longest ongoing tenant,” he said.

“You only have so much time to work on what you can work on.

“We are focused on other things, but if we had the time we’d stay open.”

König’s Biergarten will be the third Walton Stores business to close in the past three months, after family restaurant Rashays, and live music venue Bodega shut up shop.

Mr Goldie said his store’s closure would give the centre a chance to revive its offerings.

“We wanted to let our loyal customers know we were closing, because we have a number of specialised German beers that you could not get anywhere else in Toowoomba after the Bavarian closed,” he said.

“We have one customer who comes twice a week for a particular beer and he was quite disheartened when that line ran out.

“We are in for some cracking weather and would love to see you down for some pizza and beer.”

König’s Biergarten Toowoomba is set to close in three weeks.
