BRISBANE radio and TV presenter Kimberley Busteed has shared the sweet reason her new baby ‘Bear’ has a special connection to his father.
Busteed and ex-cricketer husband Chris Simpson welcomed their third child, a baby boy named Jack Nicholas Simpson, on Tuesday.
He is a baby brother to Evie, 3, and Victoria, 2.

“And then there were 5,” Busteed (left) wrote alongside an Instagram photo of her and Simpson (right) cradling their newborn.
Speaking to The Courier-Mail, Busteed explained the name was a tribute to Simpson’s late father.
“Jack is a family name on my side and Nicholas is Chris’ dad’s name. We lost Chris’ dad in November, 2018,” she said.
“Also Jack Nicklaus is a pro golfer who Chris and his dad Nick both loved – so Chris has taken to nicknaming our baby boy ‘bear’ because he was known as ‘golden bear’.”
The Gladstone-born beauty queen, who is now a Channel 7 presenter and co-host of Nova’s Thank God It’s Thaiday, recently said giving their daughters a brother was the perfect way to complete their family.
“We have the set, shop shut,” she laughed
“He (Simpson) is absolutely thrilled. He would have been fine with another girl but it wasn’t until we found out (the sex) that he realised how excited he was to have (a boy). It will be a whole new experience.”
“His sisters will definitely boss him around, they’re not shy.”
When it came to looking after three young children and juggling work, Busteed said: “I’m probably less anxious than with the second probably because I thought about it a lot more – our lives are so chaotic already what’s one more.”
