Julia Roberts spotted hugging mystery man on Gold Coast beach

The identity of the mystery man seen being embraced by Oscar-winning actor Julia Roberts on the Gold Coast has been revealed as someone who has had close connections to the Hollywood A-lister for some time.

Hollywood stars to film new movie in Queensland

Gold Coast locals were given the star treatment this week when Hollywood heavyweight Julia Roberts was spotted strolling along a local beach and embracing a mystery man.

Roberts, 54, was seen dressed in casual workout gear as she walked down Mermaid Beach, before stopping to give a giddy hug to the man who, it turns out, has been a part of her life for some time – New Zealand-British film producer Tim Bevan.

Roberts is Down Under filming Ticket to Paradise with co-star George Clooney, which is being co-produced by Bevan.

She seemed to be taking it easy and enjoying everything the Gold Coast has to offer as locals even spotted her dining at popular grill restaurant, Moo Moos on Broadbeach.

Last week, she was even snapped shopping for clothes along Burleigh.

Bevan, 63, and Roberts, 54, had their arms wrapped around each other as they were photographed strolling along Mermaid Beach.

Bevan is a film producer and the co-chairman of production company Working Title Films.

Billy Elliot and Bridget Jones’s Diary are among the iconic titles he has produced.

Roberts and Clooney have recently been spotted filming in a number of destinations across the Sunshine State including Brisbane, Gold Coast and the Whitsundays since November.

The rest of the Ticket to Paradise cast were seen filming on the idyllic Tangalooma Island Resort on Moreton Island.

The crew was seen parked up in boats on the beach of the resort on Tuesday afternoon.

Ticket to Paradise, which centres around a divorced couple who travel to Bali in a desperate bid to stop their daughter getting married, is expected to generate $47 million and more than 270 jobs for Queenslanders.
