A northern Brisbane man facing charges of seriously assaulting police officers has been released on bail for new domestic violence charges after promising to do anger management courses.

The man, who cannot be named, applied for bail at Pine Rivers Magistrates Court.

The court heard on September 13 the man allegedly breached a domestic violence order with his former partner who lives in central Queensland.

The man is currently on a probation sentence for similar offending and had been released from jail with Supreme Court bail after he was charged with seriously assaulting a police officer.

Magistrate Melanie Ho told the man he needed to agree to do an anger management course if he was released on bail.

“It’s about time you did one because you’re on your way to some serious consequences (for you actions),” she said.

The man was released on bail on the condition he undergoes the course and have no contact at all with the mother of his children.

“You have to have absolutely no contact with her,” she said.

“If she rings you, hang up the phone.”
