A glamorous former Brisbane real estate agent turned jailbird, with a rap sheet for drug crime, has walked free from court with immediate parole for supply of the drugs ice and GHB, in breach of her probation.

Siahn Cynthia Curran, an ex-Ray White Mt Gravatt agent, appeared in the District Court in Brisbane on Monday before Judge Terry Gardiner, where she pleaded guilty to more than a dozen charges including supplying the drugs ice and GHB and breaching probation.

Crown prosecutor Kate Droney submitted Curran, 32, should be jailed for up to two years because her drug supply was “commercially motivated” and it was “continued and persistent drug offending” and the court should impose a deterrent.

“Protection of the community is also particularly relevant when supplying dangerous drugs,” Ms Droney submitted.

Ms Droney told the court that Curran had been busted supplying ice and GHB after police found messages on a mobile phone during a raid of her home on June 9, 2023.

Her co-accused Matthew Whiteside also pleaded guilty to drug supply charges related to the June 9 raid in court on Monday.

Curran also pleaded guilty to charges related to her possession of 1-4-butanediol and 4-hydroxybutanoic acid - chemicals related to the party drug GHB - at a Fortitude Valley hotel on a day in February 2023.

“She has been sentenced on seven occasions since 2019, primarily for drugs, she has received probation - Your Honour will also see there is a breach of probation listed before the court today - she has also been subject to a periods of parole and she has spent time in actual custody,” Ms Droney told the court.

Defence barrister Daniel Boddice, the son of a Court of Appeal judge, told the court that Curran had previously served two months in prison for previous crimes, and that she had shown she has been drug-free for three months, giving a hair follicle test result to the court.

Curran was currently working for Emma Dakin, who provided a character reference to the court, Mr Boddice said.

Mr Boddice told the court that Curran has the support of her mother, who was in court.

Judge Gardiner convicted but did not further punish Curran for breaching the 30-month probation order he made in the District Court on September 26, 2022 for the supply and possession of GBL and 1,4 Butanediol.

Mr Boddice told the court that Curran had completed eight sessions with a drug rehabilitation service.

Convictions were recorded against both Curran and Whiteside.

Ms Droney also submitted Whiteside should be jailed for two years.

Curran and Whiteside must report to probation and parole in Brisbane South by 5pm on Monday.

“If you choose to use drugs you will end up in prison for long periods, it is a waste of your life,” he told Curran.

“It seems to me that you are making genuine efforts to keep in employment and you have the support of those people, but you will end up in jail if the community needs protection from you,” Judge Gardiner said.

“You heard the prosecutor today say you should go to jail for the protection of the community. It is really one last chance,” he told Curran.

Whiteside was also given an 18-month jail sentence, with immediate parole, after crediting him for making efforts to rehabilitate himself.
