Commuters travelling north into the city have been hit with massive delays this morning after a multi-vehicle crash brought a large stretch of the M1 to a standstill.
Congestion stretched 20km from Brisbane’s CBD to Slacks Creek at 9.30am after a reported multi-vehicle crash just before 8am.
No injuries were reported, and the traffic started to ease around 10am.
It was one of a number of series of accidents around South East Queensland on Monday morning.
A cyclist is in a serious condition after colliding with a car at Deception Bay just before 5am.
The male rider was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with potentially life-threatening head injuries.
The Forensic Crash unit is investigating and anyone with information, dashcam or CCTV footage is urged to contact police.
Meanwhile a person was trapped inside a vehicle after a two-car crash on the Warrego Highway at Glenore Grove.
Fire crews were able to free the trapped person just after 7am.
