Ellidy Pullin, widow of Australian snowboarding champion Alex “Chumpy” Pullin, has revealed her biggest fear and the guilt she feels after the birth of her daughter.

Ms Pullin has also shared how she came to choose the name Minnie Alex Pullin, who was born on Monday October 25.

She has since told her Darling! Shine podcast that she had felt a sense of guilt after feeling “the happiest” following her daughter’s birth.

“I can’t believe I’ve got like a piece of Chump back. And I’m so happy. But I feel bad saying it. It feels weird,” she said.

“I almost feel guilty but I do feel the happiest.

“I didn’t think that it would be possible to feel this happy. I feel so happy. And it’s so weird to say that because Chump’s not here and he should be here.

“I feel whole because I’ve got this little egg, but also like, there’s this emptiness like, it’s just extra sad that Chump is not here.

“This is the best and she’s amazing. But it’s obviously just so f***ing bittersweet.

Ms Pullin told her thousands of Instagram followers she was pregnant in June this year after Chumpy’s passing last July.

He drowned while spearfishing at Palm Beach on the Gold Coast.

Ms Pullin conceived her child after undergoing IVF using Chumpy’s sperm which was retrieved posthumously.

She said her daughter Minnie had returned a sense of purpose in her.

“I’m just so scared of something happening to her, even now I’m really worried about my own life because, like, what if something happened to me.”

“I just like I keep this wanting to talk to Chump and being like, am I making you proud? Like am I okay, we all good down here?”

She said she chose the name Minnie after she strayed from the list her and Chumpy had made together.

“I just fell in love with Minnie because I’m just like you’re a little mini him, and I did want mini Chump.”

“I knew that I wanted – whether it was a girl or a boy – to definitely be very symbolic of Chump and definitely include his name, of course, the last name, but then if it was a boy, I was definitely thinking Chumpy.

“For the middle name and if it was a girl, I was definitely thinking Alex.”
