A VIGIL for Hannah Clarke and her three children, Laianah, Aaliyah and Trey, will be held on Sunday evening in a celebration of the late family’s lives.

Held at the Bill Hewitt Reserve at 5pm, across the road from Whites Hill State College where Hannah went to school, a community will gather.

The Story Bridge, Victoria Bridge and City Hall will all be lit up in pink tomorrow night in honour of Ms Clarke and her three children.

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner visited the Clarke family today in preparation.

“(Today’s visit) was about getting to know the family, parents, and making sure that they were happy with the vigil and involved with the planning, things are coming together very quickly and I think it will be a wonderful celebration of Hannah and the children’s lives,” he said.

“There are so many negative things that could be focussed on but she was a beautiful person with beautiful children, from a beautiful family and they want it to be about the celebration of Hannah’s life and a positive impact on the community as well.”

The Lord Mayor said he expected a large crowd at tomorrow’s vigil after the stream of community support shown since her and her children’s tragic death.

“I know there’s so much outpouring of emotion right now, I know there will be a lot of people there tomorrow night at the Vigil and we’d like everyone possible to get involved and celebrate Hannah’s life.”

The vigil will hear words from the Lord Mayor, as well as some of Ms Clarke’s family and friends.

Local Coorparoo Ward councillor Fiona Cunningham said many residents had approached her and asked for a way to remember Ms Clarke and her three children.

“This event is an opportunity for the Eastern suburbs community to come together to grieve but also celebrate the lives of Hannah and her beautiful children, and support each other through this terrible time,” she said.

“We also must remember Hannah’s family, who have given their blessing for this remembrance event, and her network of friends who are suffering through unbearable grief because of this unspeakable act.

“I am a local parent too, so this breaks my heart. I can’t understand how this could happen.”

A condolence book will be available to sign at the memorial, where all three levels of Government are expected to attend.
