Brisbane 2032: What organisers must do to create successful Games

Olympic executives and extraordinary athletes have shared their view on what is required to make sure the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games is a roaring success.

IOC President Thomas Bach:

Concentrate on the athletes, and put the athletes at the heart of the games, and then it will be great games.

IOC President-Elect Kirsty Coventry:

People want to feel like they’re home, away from home, you guys do that so well.

Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee President Andrew Liveris AO:

Put our people on display, our personality, our exuberance, our passion, our love for sport, our love for actually living here.

Brisbane 2032 Coordination Commission Chair Mikaela Cojuangco-Jaworski:

It’s always about the people.

It’s about community. It’s about connection.

Paralympian Gold Medallist Korey Boddington:

I hope it brings everyone together and unites us all.

Even just like going to training and watching everything get built for the Olympics. Just like, wow.

European Para Swimming Championships medallist Victoria Belando Nicholson:

Everyone should just give it a go, especially us Paralympic athletes.

AOC Honorary Life President John Coates AC:

This is the most different part of Australia to what our European friends are used to. They’re very excited about coming here.

AOC President, Ian Chesterman AM:

What we would really love to see is Australians fall more in love with the Olympic Games than ever before.
