Barefoot hero rescues ducks on busy Gold Coast road

A man has been filmed jumping barefoot from his car to rush to the aid of a family of ducks that was struggling to make it across a busy road Gold Coast road. SEE THE VIDEO

A man has safely guided a family of ducks across a busy road, instinctively jumping out of his car to help the birds despite being barefoot.

In a video uploaded to TikTok last week by Australian influencer Anna Paul, the man, Rowan Allan, was spotted slowly walking behind the family of ducks as they crossed the road at a busy intersection on the Gold Coast.

“I wondered why everyone was stopped, then I saw this,” the influencer said in the video.

Despite his attempts to help them, the birds appeared to attack Mr Allan as he walked closer.

Unaffected, he lifted the remaining ducklings that couldn’t quite make it up over kerb.

In response to the video, many people immediately recognised it was filmed in Australia because Mr Allan was barefoot.

“That’s cute and all but how is this man barefoot on the road,” one commenter asked.

“No shoes? Must be Australia! Wherever this is, whoever he is … thank you,” another commenter responded.

“Aussies are a different breed. Heat-proof feet and giant hearts,” a third added.

Mr Allan explained he was on his way to jujitsu and had left his shoes in the back of his car.

“You get used to walking on hot roads when you live in Queensland,” he said.

Describing the video as a “green flag”, many commenters suggested Mr Allan is definitely “marriage material”.
