Australia Day is this Sunday 26th January 2020 with the public holiday falling on Monday 27th January 2020.
SHOPPING
Most Coles, Woolworths and Aldi stores will be open with their normal trading hours on Monday excluding some stores. Make sure to check your local before heading out.

SERVICES
Majority of Post Offices will be closed during the Australia Day public holiday on Monday with some exceptions for larger outlets. There will also be no delivery services taking place this long weekend.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
TransLink public transport services will mostly be running on a Sunday/public holiday timetable on Monday. Plan your journey before heading out to avoid delays.
The following bus services will not be operating on Monday:
Mt Gravatt Bus Service: routes 260, 261, 262 and 299
Brisbane Bus Lines: route 399
Mackay Transit Coaches: route 300, 301, 302, 303, 304, 305, 306
The NightLink train services will not be operating on Monday and an additional Gympie North to Roma Street service will depart from Gympie North Station at 5.51am, arriving at Roma Street Station by 8.38am

Raise ‘Em Up
This Saturday Brisbane’s Tivoli will play host to some of Australia’s biggest names including Meghan Washington, Matt Corby and The Kite String Tangle. The all-star benefit gig aims to raise $100,000 for Australian bushfire relief.

Stay cool on the 50m slip and slide, in the big pools or smaller slides and test your skill in the lamington-eating competition. Plus live music.

For the kids there will be a jumping castle, face painter and petting zoo. There will also

Priceless Treasure
To mark this year’s Brisbane Chinese Festival, Council will be projecting Yin Lu’s artwork Priceless Treasure onto the William Jolly Bridge. Yin Lu is a Brisbane-based Chinese Australian artist, whose work is influenced by her Chinese background resulting in bold artworks in ink and acrylic.

The Book of Mormon
The Book of Mormon returns for an encore season. Written by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone with music by Robert Lopez, the production follows the journey of two naive Mormon boys (Elder Price and Elder Cunningham) from America to Uganda. The show has won nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, the Grammy for Best Musical Theatre album, and four Olivier Awards including Best New Musical.

Xpress Fun Train
All aboard! Take a ride on the trackless train through South Bank Parklands. It starts from the main station on Clem Jones Promenade, around the corner from the Wheel of Brisbane. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a guardian.

Spiders

Water
See Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson’s huge 2014 installation Riverbed, a vast riverbed of 100 tonnes of rock with a creek running through it. This is the first time it has been seen in the southern hemisphere. Plus test your agility with American artist William Forsythe’s The Fact of Matter, with its suspended gym rings and fabric straps to swing on.
