Mount Tamborine residents were treated to a surprise visit from Hollywood royalty on Australia Day, as Paul Rudd, Jack Black, and Thandiwe Newton stopped by the iconic St Bernard’s Hotel for a relaxed dinner.
The stars of the Anaconda reboot posed with the hotel’s famous St Bernard dogs, Cooper, Syrah, and Norman.
The hotel’s Instagram account shared a snap of the actors with one of the beloved dogs, captioning the post: “The saints had very special visitors tonight! Jack Black, Thandiwe Newton, and Paul Rudd came in for dinner and a meet and greet with Cooper, Syrah & Norman. How cool is that!”
Rudd, known for his roles in Ant-Man and Clueless, was spotted on the Gold Coast a week earlier, enduring the heat while filming a scene in an inflatable dinghy on the region’s waterways.
His co-star Jack Black, famous for School of Rock and Kung-Fu Panda, has been equally visible, enjoying beach outings and even taking an early morning ride on a Lime bike earlier in the week.
Black’s antics also included a playful mock-fight with a paparazzo on January 19.
Filming for the Anaconda reboot has been underway at various stunning Gold Coast locations, including Springbrook and Purling Brook Falls.
The film, a reimagining of the 1997 cult classic starring Jennifer Lopez, Jon Voight, and Owen Wilson, is projected to inject a massive $40 million into the local economy.
