Graham Long nominated for Pride of Australia award
"It's exhausting but rewarding. I get a giggle (and) a smile from her and go to bed knowing I've done the best I can," he said.
His friend, Kim Burrows from St Marys, nominated the single dad for a Pride of Australia Award Courage Medal.
"He does everything for his daughter and he's so loving, caring, gentle and patient," Ms Burrows, 53, said.

"She knows her dad. She knows he's there (and) she communicates with him by clapping her hands," Ms Burrows said.
"He would give his right arm just to hear her say 'I love you Dad'."
Ms Burrows couldn't hold the father of three in a higher regard: "He is so humble. I see this nomination as a tribute for the wonderful job he does."
Nominations will be accepted until Tuesday, July 16.
