LAWYER, writer, actor, community leader - Pauline Wright's life is all about giving every person "a fair go".
"In my life I have two passions, one is civil liberties and the other is theatre," the 52-year-old from Avoca Beach said.
"Those two things drive what I do."
Her commitment to pro bono work as a civil liberties lawyer, volunteering in community-based projects and performances in the arts has led to Ms Wright being nominated for the Pride of Australia Community Spirit Medal.
"I've always felt a passion for what's a fair a go," she said.
Pride of Australia honours unsung heroes
Ms Wright is particularly drawn to working with young indigenous people.
"It's a national disgrace the number of indigenous young people who are in detention centres," she said.
Ms Wright was nominated by her colleague Jiri Kripac.
"She is constantly on the go," Mr Kripac said. "Anybody would say the same thing. She's amazing."
