Port Adelaide Tour Down Under festivities forced indoors due to hot weather

Outdoor activities planned for the Tour Down Under stage one race finish at Port Adelaide have been cancelled due to hot weather, but plenty will be happening indoors. SEE WHERE TO JOIN THE FUN.

Port Adelaide’s Tour Down Under festivities will be forced indoors due to hot weather.

Outdoor events planned by Port Adelaide Enfield Council — including BMX tracks, petanque, a waterside and stage — have been cancelled.

The change of plan came as the Bureau of Meteorology predicted a top of 41 degrees for the stage one finish in Port Adelaide next Tuesday, January 15.

Instead, about 40 business will have special events and entertainment in the centre of Port Adelaide, including live music and pop up bars.

Stage one of the Tour Down Under will begin in North Adelaide and take the pro cyclists north east to One Tree Hill, before coming down for a loop around Houghton and following the route back to finish at Port Adelaide.

The race is expected to role into the Port shortly before 2.30pm.
