Police investigating death of 21-year-old Vincent man

Police are investigating after a 21-year-old Vincent man was discovered dead near Woodstock, in an incident they believe is suspicious.

Townsville detectives are investigating after a 21-year-old man was found dead on Saturday.

The man, from the Townsville suburb of Vincent, was discovered inside a 2003 Subaru Forrester around 8.45am on Webb Road, near Calcium.

Police units seized the vehicle for forensic examination after it was determined the man had died.

Investigators with the Townsville Criminal Investigation Unit say they believe the man’s death should now be considered suspicious and are urging the public to come forward with any information on anyone or vehicles spotted near Webb Road and Dingo Park Road in the Woodstock area between Friday evening and Saturday morning.

A police spokeswoman confirmed on Monday morning that they were questioning a male witness in relation to the incident.

He was not under arrest.

Anyone with relevant dashcam footage or information is asked to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
