Generations of Sydney families will descend on the iconic claway track this Saturday for the new season of Speedway. Photographer Jonathan Ng documented the people who the keep the Speedway kicking over.

7/20Speedway driver Norm Jackson. Norm would eventually inspire his son, Matt Jackson to become a champion of the sport. Norm Jackson raced speedcars from 1981 to 1995 and sprintcars from 1995 to 1997.
8/20Norm Jackson Snr Norm won the 1954 Australian speedcar championship, the most prestigious race in Australia. In 1958 he died in a racing incident in a speedcar.
9/20The year is 1978 and sedans line up on main straight prior to race commencement.
10/20The era of sprintcar racing was still emerging as a sprintcar and super modified practice. Photo was taken in 1976.

‘Haunting history of my vintage FJ Holden ute’
When Sunday Telegraph picture editor Jeff Darmanin bought a 1955 Holden FJ ute to restore, he was shocked to discover a teen boy had been shot dead in the vehicle in 1965. The ute was then buried deep in a Gundagai barn for decades before being resold.
