8/31The Gospers Mountain fire continues to be listed at Emergency Warning Level. Reports of houses being destroyed are coming in. The fire is moving towards Kurrajong from Bilpin. From 1767 Bells Line of Road. The fire rapidly approached the house with a roar. Ripping up the valley the intense heat hit well before the flame. Embers were the first to arrive. The house was saved by efforts of Killara RFS and the property owner, Mark Jol. The owner and his son Andrew remained to defend the property. The house was well prepared in advance of the fire front.
