Denise asks: My washing machine stopped working six weeks after the two-year warranty ran out. When I called customer service and insisted on speaking with a manager they refused. What rights do I have?

Brydens answers: Since 2011 a national code requires products to be of acceptable quality. That means safe, lasting with no faults, and meeting any extra promises made about performance, condition and quality, as well as having spare parts and repair facilities available for a reasonable time after purchase unless you were told otherwise at the time of purchase. This is over and above any manufacturer’s warranty which may be given.

You can seek The remedies you can seek are against the retailer. It would and the be best idea is for you to contact the business to in writing, explaininging the problem and the outcome you want in writing. They business may ask you for proof of purchase.
