Peta Credlin: Parent revolt needed to fight woke schools
The release of the politically correct draft national school curriculum proves parents need to revolt against woke schools, Peta Credlin writes.

Don’t think that the politically correct draft national school curriculum is an aberration. The educational establishment is riddled with quasi-Marxists using schools to bring about a cultural revolution.
The latest demonstration, from Monash University, is a just-published teacher guide called “Building Better Schools with Evidence Based Policy”.
Despite the complete absence of any evidence that this makes for better schools or better citizens, this advises teachers to avoid using terms like “boys and girls” and “normal”.
As well, schools should declare a “climate change emergency” in order to indicate their “willingness to commit to telling the truth about the reality of climate breakdown”.
In other words, the so-called teacher-educators at Monash Uni want the teachers they train to become politically correct brainwashers in schools that are functioning more as propaganda centres, than places where an inquiring mind is fostered.
But where are the Coalition education ministers denouncing this rubbish and making sure it’s banished from schools? They’ll tell you they don’t support it privately but are gutless in standing up to their departments and activists, fearing it might hamper their ministerial advancement.
Well, the ministry means little if you’re thrown out of government by Australians sick of weak politicians who fail to stand up for values they’re elected to promote, and defend.
What’s needed is a parents (and grandparents) revolt against woke schools. Ask your children about what they’re being taught and if it sounds contrary to commonsense, talk to other parents and then talk to the principal. What’s also needed is for Liberal Party members and supporters to remind ministers they’re not there to preside over the implementation of Labor policies.
