Radio host Ray Hadley has unleashed a scathing attack on federal senators, declaring they should “hang their heads in shame” for voting down a probe into the fatal Taipan helicopter crash.
“The whole thing stinks to high heaven,” Hadley said.
“And the way you senators have conducted yourself in voting this down is simply disgraceful. You’ve abrogated your responsibility to the Australian public and our men and women who serve.”
The crash near the Whitsundays in July 2023 claimed the lives of Lieutenant Max Nugent, Captain Danniel Lyon, Warrant Officer Class 2 Joseph “Phillip” Laycock and Corporal Alexander Naggs. Nugent was the nephew of comedian Jim Jefferies, who has accused the government of a cover-up.
