To the HSC Class of 2024,

This year, you’re part of an extraordinary cohort of students. With 76,000 of you sitting at least one HSC exam, you are one of the record-breaking number of students who have demonstrated hard work, dedication and determination. Your efforts have led you all

to this point – and that’s something to be very proud of.

This moment isn’t just about the HSC exams, it’s about everything you’ve learned in the classroom and beyond. You have all grown into young adults, ready to step into the world and tackle your next steps – whether it is employment, further study, picking up

a trade or travelling.

As you prepare for the next chapter in your life, I urge you to take a moment to pause and reflect on all your achievements thus far. The HSC exams may feel like ‘the big final test’, but for many of you when you sit down for your first exam, you’ll be the

first in your family to do so – and that’s an amazing achievement in itself.

I also want to acknowledge all of the teachers and support staff who have guided you to this moment. Their dedication has helped shape the future that lies before you.

Of course, a big thank you to your families, carers, friends and support network who have been there for you every step of the way, and who will continue to be there for you after the 8th of November.

As you finish your final HSC exam and go through the school gates for the last time, remember these exams are just one part of your journey. Your hard work, commitment and passion will carry you forward, no matter what path you choose.

My parting words to you are to be confident, take care of yourself and trust in what you have learned over the years.

To the HSC Class of 2024, I wish you all the best. The whole world is waiting for you, and I can’t wait to see your futures unfold.
