Andrew Bolt: Tom Ballard’s sick MICF joke proves leftists aren’t any kinder

Could any conservative get away with a “joke” like Tom Ballard’s? Don’t worry about COVID, he said, it “killed a lot of people in nursing homes, but I checked and they were all Liberal”.

Tom Ballard joked about Liberal voters dying in nursing homes from COVID at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

People of the Left tend to flatter themselves as kinder. But then along comes comedian Tom Ballard, a true barbarian.

Could any prominent conservative get away with venting such sadistic rage as Ballard did at the opening night gala of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival?

Don’t worry about COVID-19, said Ballard. It had “killed a lot of people in nursing homes, but I checked and they were all Liberal voters”.

Then there was this message to Liberals: “I hope you die, I hope you choke on your own franking credits, you evil greedy fascist soulless pig dogs.”

These are not jokes. These are paroxysms of hate, entertaining only to an audience that wants to hate, too.

Ballard has form. He once had an ABC show which called an Australian Conservatives candidate a “c..t”.

Sure, he hasn’t actually got away scot-free. The ABC eventually cancelled his low-rating show, and now won’t include Ballard’s act in its comedy festival telecast.

So ABC’s Leftists still have some standards, you’d argue. But how low they are.

Don’t forget, the ABC is still where racism is heard at its most public and shameless. From the Left, not Right.

“Please help me to hate White people,” starts one prayer by clinical psychologist and womanist theologian Chanequa Walker-Barnes in a new best-selling book of prayers for “progressives”.

Done! “White people are c..ts,” declared actors on the ABC’s Black Comedy show. “F..k whitey!” shouted Nakkiah Lui at an ABC audience.

How did the Left become exactly what it claims to hate — racist, violent and the most likely to ban a book or demand apartheid?

There’s the Black Lives Matter racists, obviously. Federal Labor now even demands a kind of Aboriginal-only advisory parliament.

The Left also preaches violence right out there on TV, where conservatives don’t.

“How many rapists must we kill until men stop raping us?” asked one ABC guest on Q&A. “Let’s burn stuff,” suggested a race radical.

Notice how so many Leftist protests are violent?

Just last week, Melbourne University’s Queer Political Action Collective abused and threw water over supporters of senior lecturer Holly Lawford-Smith, who’d asked women to share “how your use of women-only spaces has been impacted” by the transgender movement.

Look at the record. Leftists are entitled to argue their causes.

But don’t tell me they’re kinder. Not as a political force.
