Just hours into her stay at a Surfers Paradise hotel, a 20-year-old tourist’s holiday took a turn for the worse after her bags were allegedly taken by an opportunistic thief.

The woman had just checked into a hotel on Hamilton Ave where she dropped off five bags to be held at about 11am on April 18.

The hotel gave her a ticket so she would eventually be able to get her bags back, which she accidentally dropped on the pavement outside.
