Omelettes for breakfast, three courses for dinner: how celeb chef feeds fur baby

Anna Polyviou feeds her beloved dog, Anca, three home-cooked meals a day. The menu includes omelettes for breakfast and gourmet dinners. Now, she’s doing high teas for doggos.

Celebrity chef Anna Polyviou cooks three meals a day for fur baby, Anca.

“For me, every day is lavish for Anca,” Polyviou told The Daily Telegraph.

“I make her omelettes for breakfast, she gets gourmet meals and three courses at dinner sometimes.

“She gets fresh meals daily so for example, if she is not feeling well, I will make her a chicken broth, I do puree of sweet potato, green vegetables, poached chicken.

“She is part of the family, and it is important she eats good, nutritional food.”

Polyviou, known for her delicious desserts for humans, has partnered with Sydney’s Langham Hotel for a dog high tea offering until the end of June.

“Anca has never had tinned food in her life,” Polyviou said.

“I love her … she is my fur baby. When I prepare a dish for a dog, it is all about making sure that it is presented well, getting the flavours right and just be careful not to season stuff, not to overcook food as well, no oils.

“You really need to research what you feed your dog to ensure it is a well-balanced diet. It is important to cook for your fur babies and make sure there is some green veggies as well.”

Vet Dr Lisa Chimes, though, warned pet owners to ensure their furry friends don't over indulge in “treats”. Different breeds of dog have different sensitivities and tastes.

“It needs to be a balanced diet that is made specifically for dogs so they are getting all of the right nutrients,” the owner of the DOG by Dr Lisa brand said. “They can get some serious illnesses if they are not fed proper dog food.”
