NT Police confirm 39-year-old officer charged with six counts of assault

The police and corruption watchdogs have been alerted after a Territory cop was charged with six counts of aggravated assault.
NT Police confirmed a 39-year-old woman had been served with a summons to appear in Alice Springs Local Court for a string of assaults dating back seven years.
It will be alleged the NT Police officer assaulted another woman five times over three years, with charges dating between October 2016 and February 2019.
It will be alleged another female victim was assaulted at some point between, October 1, 2016 and April 20, 2017.
All alleged incidents occurred in Alice Springs.
The officer also allegedly unlawfully accessed police data with the intent to harass on December 19, 2018.
She was charged with two counts of using a carriage service to harass from the same day.
“NT ICAC and the NT Ombudsman have been advised of the matter,” an NT Police spokesman said.
“This information is provided in accordance with NT Police Transparency Guidelines.”
She will appear in Alice Springs Local Court on April 12.
