A security guard has been charged with sexually touching a teenage girl after telling her he would get her “somewhere safe” when she became separated from her friends, before allegedly luring her into a CBD construction site.

Zekry Bishara, 61, allegedly exposed himself to the 16-year-old girl and offered to pay her $50 to touch him after finding her wandering a city street on Mardi Gras night.

Bishara denies the offence and faced Central Local Court on Monday where he was granted bail.

Documents tendered in court reveal the girl had spent the night out drinking with friends, before going to McDonald’s at Circular Quay.

While waiting for her food she became separated from the group and wandered through the city alone.

As she walked up Loftus St, away from the ferry terminal, she came across Bishara who was talking to another security guard.

“I’ll take you somewhere safe,” police allege Bishara told the girl.

According to the court documents, about 11.42pm on Saturday he opened a gate and walked the girl onto the construction site.

The girl told police she began to fear for her safety and texted friends saying: “help”. Her friends tried to call the girl, but she did not answer.

Bishara then allegedly led the teenager into a small room and offered her a “dark beer” from a can.

Police allege he told the girl “let me touch you, let me kiss you” to which she responded “no, I want to leave”.

It is then that Bishara allegedly showed the girl a $50 note and said: “I will pay you to touch me.”

The court heard the security guard then exposed himself to the girl and put her hand on his penis.

“No, I’m a child,” police allege the girl replied.

Bishara then allegedly sexually touched the girl, the documents state.

Ten minutes after first walking the girl onto the building site, Bishara took the teenager back out of the locked gate.

She called her parents who took her to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

When police attended the building site about three hours after the alleged incident, Bishara allegedly told officers: “I walked her up the road and then she ran off.”

He then told them: “I opened the door and she came in for a second before leaving.”

Police reviewed CCTV footage that allegedly showed the girl entering the building site and leaving 10 minutes later. After arresting Bishara, officers searched his wallet and allegedly found a $50 note.

During a search of the construction site they also found a half-empty can of Guinness beer just outside the room where the incident was alleged to have occurred.

Bishara was charged with sexually touching the girl without consent, carrying out a sexual act without consent and detaining a person with the intention of obtaining advantage.

Under the strict conditions of his bail he must report to police daily and cannot enter the city. He is due to return to court on May 4.
