The brother and sister of an accused killer have been charged over a nasty confrontation with the media outside a western Sydney courthouse.
Faisal Zarshoy, 25, and Anita Zarshoy, 30, had shown up for a hearing on their brother Mohammad’s murder charge at Parramatta Local Court on July 7, when reporters attempted to ask them questions as they left.
Footage of the incident captured Faisal Zarshoy as he appeared to swipe a microphone from the hand of Channel 7 senior correspondent Robert Ovadia before pushing Ovadia twice and repeatedly shoving television cameras.
Police allege Anita contributed to the affray during a run-in with a cameraman.
Ovadia did not report the incident, however TV station bosses chose to contact police concerned about the treatment of reporters.

“Our reporters and cameramen cover court stories that are in the public interest and don’t expect to be bashed and pushed around while doing their jobs,” Seven’s news director Jason Morrison said.
“And if something like this is going to happen right under the noses of law enforcement where else could it happen?”
Police raided the Zarshoy family home at The Ponds on Thursday morning, allegedly finding cash and a white substance believed to be methamphetamine.
The Zarshoys’ 50-year-old mother began complaining of chest pains and was taken to Blacktown Hospital in an ambulance. At the hospital the mother was allegedly found to have $3740 cash stuffed in her underwear, which was seized by police.
Anita Zarshoy was taken to Riverstone Police Station, where she was charged with affray and released on bail.
Faisal was not home at the time of the raid, but showed up to Riverstone Police Station around 6.30pm, where he was charged with three counts of common assault and one count of affray. Both siblings are due to front court in August.
Nobody was charged over the cash or white substance found at the home. The investigation is continuing.
Mohammad Zarshoy is accused of shooting dead 44-year-old Robert Atkinson at a home on Jones St, Wentworthville last month.
He is on remand and his case was adjourned until September 3.
