A pregnant woman has described the harrowing moment a man stole her car with her two children in the back seat in Sydney’s south west.

The woman — who has asked not to be named — told The Daily Telegraph she has cuts along her elbows and knees after being dragged for metres while holding on to the car door during the robbery in Greenacre on Saturday afternoon.

“A man called me to come have a look at a car I was selling and when we were test driving I got out to go around the car to get in the passenger seat so he could drive and he sped off with my children in the back,” she said.

“I’ve grazed my knees and elbows while I was holding on to the door and then yelled down a passing car so we could go after him.

“I got in the car with the random person and after a few hundred metres I saw my boy and girl standing on the side of the road.”

The 2014 black Mercedes A45 AMG with NSW registration DZG31F the woman was selling for $39,999 is still missing.

Police are searching for a large man described as being of Islander appearance with purple hair and his associate, a smaller man who left shortly before the test drive.

The woman — who is nine months pregnant — said her 11-year-old boy and eight-year-old girl were traumatised by the ordeal.

“They told me they were holding each on to each other and hugging while in the car,” she said.

“I don’t understand how anyone could do this. We have handed all the information over to police.”

A NSW Police spokesman urged people to come forward with information about the two men.

“Police would like to speak to two men who they believe can assist with investigations,” a NSW Police spokesman said.

“One man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori in appearance, 20 to 25 years old, with a large/ solid build, about 180cm tall, with purple dyed hair in a bun, and wearing a grey jumper and dark pants.

“The other is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori in appearance, about 20 years old, tall, with a skinny build, patchy facial hair, and wearing dark clothing and a dark hat.”
