THE beauty salon owner who had a botched breast procedure at a Sydney clinic has died.

Jean Huang, 35, had been fighting for life in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital since Wednesday after a Chinese tourist allegedly gave her a potentially lethal amount of anaesthetic at her Carlton St, Chippendale clinic.

Police have this afternoon confirmed Ms Huang died today following the procedure for “breast fillers” at The Medi Beauty Clinic.

A 33-year-old woman, Jei Shao, has been charged with reckless grievous bodily harm and using poison so as to endanger life.

Police are now considering further legal action.

The 33-year-old is also being investigated by the Health Care Complaints Commission along with Yuegiong Fu who was allegedly working as a nurse during the procedure at the clinic.

The HCCC today said neither Shao nor Fu were registered in Australia.

“The commission is also assessing a complaint about a registered medical practitioner at the practice,” the commission said in a statement.

Shao’s solicitor, Mary Underwood, on Thursday told the court her client was a graduate of a Canton medical university and a specialist in dermatology who had practised in China and Great Britain.

According to the police statement Shao knew Ms Huang through a mutual friend and the pair agreed Shao would inject fillers into Ms Huang’s breasts.

“Inquiries are continuing with a view to further legal action being considered,” NSW Police said in a statement.
