 A Current Affair: Tyrrell twist

A FIFTH person has been questioned by detectives over the disappearance of toddler William Tyrrell after police discovered her application to the Department of Housing requesting a three-bedroom home that she could share with William’s grandmother.

Kim Loweke appeared on Channel Nine’s A Current Affair revealing police wanted to know where she was the day William disappeared.

She told the program that detectives also requested she show bank statements.

William Tyrell, three-years-old at the time, has been missing for almost two years.

“I don’t know why my name has come up in this situation,” Ms Loweke told A Current Affair.

“I asked them inside and we sat in the kitchen and they just asked me about William — William’s disappearance.”

Natalie Collins, who happens to be Ms Loweke’s best friend and William’s grandmother was surprised to hear she was questioned.

“I just felt sick (when I heard they had questioned her), I don’t know why they’re involving her,” Ms Collins said.

Ms Loweke lives 360km from Kendall where William disappeared almost two years ago from another relative’s house.

It is understood there is a link between Ms Loweke and Debbie Jones, whose estranged husband, Anthony “Tony” Jones is considered to be a person of interest in the case.

Tony Jones’ car was seized for forensic examination and he was questioned by police. He said he was collecting scrap metal at the time William disappeared and has denied involvement in his disappearance.

Ms Loweke said detectives were interested in her silver Holden VX Commodore, which was similar in colour to the one seen parked outside nearby the morning of the disappearance.

A white station wagon similar to the one pictured was spotted outside, across the road from William’s grandmother’s home the morning of his disappearance.

Ms Loweke is living with Mr Jones’ brother-in-law and she personally knows Bill Spedding, another person who has been questioned by police in relation to the disappearance. Mr Spedding has released a video denying any involvement in the disappearance.

Police were also interested in Ms Loweke’s application to the Department of Housing, in which she requested a three-bedroom home she wanted to share with William’s grandmother.

ACA tonight revealed she had asked if there was a third room.

“They thought it was for William and I said, ‘Nah, it’s not like that, it’s actually for my art’. You know, try and get a spare room for my art,” Ms Loweke said.

“Someone knows something and I don’t know how they can live with themselves if someone’s got him because this isn’t fair.”

There have been multiple reported sightings of William, but none of them have been confirmed to be of the missing boy.

William was last seen wearing his favourite Spiderman outfit.
