A jealous husband made his wife show him the sexting messages she exchanged with her lover before he stabbed her to death, it was revealed at a murder trial.
Hotel cleaner Shahab Ahmed, 35, confessed to police that he forced his wife to sit next to him on their bed, a kitchen knife at his side, while he read the sexually explicit messages.
After reading them he stabbed her 14 times as she shouted, “forgive me Russel, forgive me.”
Shahab Ahmed has pleaded not guilty in the NSW Supreme Court to murdering his wife Khondkar Fariha Elahi, 29, claiming he was substantially impaired when he stabbed her 14 times at their Parramatta home on February 18, 2017.

The Crown has not accepted his guilty plea to the lesser charge of manslaughter.
Ahmed told police that after he stabbed his wife he smoked several cigarettes over 10 minutes and then updated his Facebook status to, “THE END.”
He then changed her Facebook profile picture to a photo of them smiling together before ringing triple-0.
Agreed facts tendered at the trial state he told the emergency operator he had “killed my wife,” and, “she was dead”.
Ms Elahi’s lover, married IT worker Omar Khan, gave evidence during which he was asked about the racy messages the pair exchanged on Facebook on February 15.
It was the same day Ahmed returned form a three-month stay in his native Bangladesh.
Defence barrister Avni Djemal said to Mr Khan, “(you were) talking about each other’s genitals and doing things to each other’s genitals.”
“These messages you agree from time to time would continue in what was a very sexual manner?”
“I would say yes,” Mr Khan replied.
The court heard the pair also sent nude photos to each other.
Mr Khan gave evidence on Tuesday that he and his wife had been very close friends with Ahmed and Ms Elahi before the affair begun.
He gave evidence that their romance began in July 2015 while they both worked at iiNet.
Mr Khan said he bought Ms Elahi presents including clothes and a car stereo system.
On her birthday he had a teddy bear sent to her at work with the message, “Happy Birthday my dearest wifey, love hubbie.”
Mr Djemal asked Mr Khan about a love letter his wife found from Ms Elahi to him.
“In effect she said to you it’s a love letter … and she had forwarded it onto the accused,” Mr Djemal said.
“That is correct,” Mr Khan said.
The court heard that on the same day Mr Ahmed was told about the letter police were called to his home because there were concerns he would harm himself.
Another witness, Arijit Barua told the court that Ahmed had suspected his wife was having an affair with Mr Khan since 2015.
Crown Prosecutor Sean Hughes questioned Mr Barua about a phone conversation he had with Ahmed hours before the accused killed his wife.
“Did (Ahmed) say to you Fariha wants a divorce but whatever the procedures are I’m not helping she can do it herself, Fariha has already researched the procedure and says she needs a statement from a third person saying the relationship had broken down so they could get a quick divorce.”
“Yes that is correct,” Mr Barua said.
“During that phone conversation did his speech appear normal to you?” Mr Hughes asked.
“He was quite normal, yes,” he said.
The trial continues.
