Major homewares and electrical retailer Harris Scarfe will open to fill the space where Myer department store once operated at Westpoint Blacktown.
The store will open on level two, where Myer stood before its closure in April after almost 50 years.
“Harris Scarfe’s arrival will give our community an exciting new range of products to shop at the centre, complementing our existing high quality retail offering,’’ Westpoint centre manager Angela Johnston said.
Alongside Harris Scarfe, JB Hi-Fi and Cotton On will relocate to vaster spaces on level two and three respectively.
“Cotton On will also expand its space fourfold with the brand new store featuring everyone’s favourite Cotton On brands under one roof, including Cotton On, Rubi and Cotton On Body — a mega range,’’ Ms Johnston said.
Details about which business will fill the site vacated by JB Hi-Fi on the second level are still under wraps but Ms Johnston said a “fourth retailer will be moving into the centre in the coming months”.
The project includes new flooring, ceilings, lighting, columns and balustrade upgrades.
“Greenery will complete the look and add life, creating a beautiful place for you to shop and relax,’’ Ms Johnston said.
Myer became a casualty of the consumer shift towards online shopping on April 3 and was the fifth Australian store to shut under the company’s Customer First Plan, which was unveiled in January 2019.
