Westfield Brawl: Six teens charged over a carpark fight involving up to 50 people

Five underage teenagers and an 18-year-old have been charged after a shocking brawl on a rooftop carpark at a Liverpool shopping centre last night.
Police were called to Westfield on Macquarie Street around 8.30pm on Thursday, after reports of a fight involving up to 50 people.
Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command moved to disperse the crowd, but were forced to use capsicum spray after a number of people began threatening police.
In footage uploaded to a Snapchat account, more than five officers can be seen arresting one of the teens as crowds gathered around with one yelling “he is 16”.
Another teen arrested can be heard yelling before police take him away in handcuffs.
The six youths were arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station where they were charged.
A 13-year-old boy from Ashcroft was charged with assaulting police and fail to comply with direction, while a 16-year-old from Heckenberg was charged with assaulting police, resist/hinder police and fail to comply with direction.
Another 16-year-old from Busby was charged with affray, threaten violence/cause fear, and fail to comply with direction, while a 17-year-old from Heckenberg was also charged with affray, threaten violence/cause fear, fail to comply with direction, and resist police.
A 17-year-old youth from Ashcroft was also charged with affray and threaten violence/cause fear.
They have all been granted conditional bail and will appear in a children’s court on Monday February 3 2020.
Meanwhile, an 18-year-old man from Ashcroft was charged with affray, threaten violence/cause fear, and fail to comply with direction.
He’s been granted conditional bail and will appear in Liverpool Local Court on Thursday February 6 2020.
