The footage shows one man punch another in the head, before being kneed and punched repeatedly in the head during the ugly scenes on the corner of Darlinghurst and Bayswater roads around 1.20am.

The shocking footage also captures one man being punched and falling to the road.

A bystander who filmed the chaos can be heard calling for someone to get an ambulance as one of the men lies motionless on the pavement.

On Tuesday Bondi Beach-based Murphy admitted to using “unlawful violence” against Paterson and is due to be sentenced at Downing Centre Local Court on June 18.

Murphy, who hails from Jersey in the Channel Islands, later covered his face with his jacket as he ran from court.

Paterson pleaded not guilty to attacking Ware’s brother James, allegedly with the help of Mullally. James Ware is not been charged with any offence.

Randwick-based man Beckford, also originally from Jersey, denied attacking Mullally and Paterson and is due back in court alongside the two Sydney CBD-based roommates on July 2.

At the time emergency services revealed none of the men suffered significant injuries from the scuffle and they did not all know each other.

When first granted bail Mullally and Paterson laughed and smiled as they walked free from custody but were silent and stony-faced outside court on Tuesday.

Their alleged altercation occurred in the same strip that 18-year-old Thomas Kelly died in an unprovoked one-punch attack in 2012, while teenager Daniel Christie was killed from a coward punch there 18 months later.
