Two young people have been killed in a fiery crash after their car left the road and smashed into a tree on Sydney’s Northern Beaches overnight.

Two people have been killed in a fiery crash on Sydney’s Northern Beaches overnight.
Police were called to Burnt Bridge Creek Deviation in Balgowlah shortly before 11pm following reports of a crash.
Officers were told a black Toyota Corolla left the roadway before smashing into a tree and bursting into flames.
The collision and explosions was loud enough to concern residents up to 250m away, reported the Northern Beaches Advocate.

Firefighters raced to the scene and extinguished the blaze.
It’s understood a 23-year-old man and 26-year-old woman were inside the vehicle.
Both died at the scene prior to the arrival of emergency services.
Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command established a crime scene that was later examined by specialist police.
Police are investigating if speed was a factor.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
