From the horrified to the hilarious, a shot of a python stuck in a toilet has generated a huge response from readers transfixed about its unorthodox habitat.

From the straight up “oh my God I would just die” to the more witty “this brings new meaning to the term laying cable”, a shot of a python stuck in a toilet has generated a huge and, at times hilarious, response on social media.

It’s one of those images that’s hard to erase and triggers a long list of disturbing questions.

The toilet photo was taken when Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 – an organisation well known for sharing the delights of its job on Facebook – went on a call-out to relocate the reptile.

This week the organisation shared an image of the coastal carpet python, which decided to cool off in the worst location possible – someone's toilet.

“Poor thing probably thought he was in a nice lagoon,” the post opined.

In April last year, the public lost its mind over a “gross” picture of a snake defecating.

The image showed a massive python relieving itself on top of a resident’s roof, with many shocked by the sheer size of the snake’s waste.

Some shared close toilet encounters with green tree frogs but not many could say they had seen anything like the snake coiled up in the toilet before.

“I would die,” Darlene Knott Ridgell said.

Most had a humorous take on the shocking find.

“I bet that hurt coming out,” Matt Denney posted.

“Poor thing, he looks a bit flushed,” Robyn Ward added.

And perhaps one of the best lines came from Lynnie Hindle who posted: “That’s taking laying a cable to the next level.”
