Sky's the limit for couple

NOEL and Marion Armstrong will move less than 20 kilometres, but the couple will go from tree-changers to sea-changers.

The Terranora couple will leave their country acreage for a beachfront “sky home” at Rainbow Bay.

“We are moving to suit our lifestyle changes,” Mrs Armstrong said.

“We are getting older and it’s only the two of us, as our children have all left home.”

Mr and Mrs Armstrong have bought a one-per-floor sky home on the seventh level of the $20 million Maili development.

“Maili is a way for us to condense our living while retaining our lifestyle,” she said.

“We purchased on the fifth level but then decided the views from the seventh level would be even more incredible and being higher up we would capture the cool ocean breezes.”

Although the move from their Terranora acreage will be a downsize, Mrs Armstrong said they won’t be compromising on lifestyle.

“Maili offers us the coastal lifestyle we enjoy; we love walking on the beach and Maili’s location is so central to everything.

“We can just walk down Eden Ave to all the restaurants and shops at Coolangatta.

“It’s also nice to know that Maili gives us the freedom to lock up and leave and still feel as though our home is secure.”

Mrs Armstrong said the flexible floor plans meant they could tailor their home to suit their needs and wants.

“To have control over our home’s features is wonderful.

“The opportunity to make all these changes is something you don’t get in many other apartments.”

Mr and Mrs Armstrong will make the most of Maili’s pet-friendly environment, moving in with their two pure-bred cats.

“We love that we can move into sky-home living and take our beloved cats with us,” she said.

“We’ve had them for a long time and we couldn’t leave them behind. The pet friendly environment was an important purchasing factor for us.”

The Nu Development is named after local surfing break Little Maili, the rocky outcrop formation near Snapper Rocks.
