Names revealed: Six arrested in Tweed Heads and Evans Head after cross-border drug investigation

Six people have been charged with drug and firearm offences after dramatic arrests at a service station in far northern NSW as well as search warrants at addresses in Tweed Heads, Evans Head and the Gold Coast.

Six people connected to dramatic arrests at a service station in far northern NSW have been charged with drug and firearm offences.

NSW Strike Force McClelland officers stopped a vehicle at a Ampol service station at Chinderah, south of Tweed Heads, about 1.10pm on Wednesday.

Three people in the vehicle – Natasha Lee Wilson Lam, 37, Jake Allan Smith, 28, and Michael Parkinson-Cumine, 51 – were arrested at the scene.

Lam, of Evans Heads, was charged with 64 offences including large commercial drug supply and three counts of recruiting a child to carry out or assist a criminal activity.

She was refused bail in Tweed Heads Local Court on Thursday and will return to court in September.

Smith, of Burleigh Heads, was charged with 24 offences including large commercial drug supply.

He was refused bail in Tweed Heads Local Court on Thursday and will return to court next week.

Parkinson-Cumine from Evans Head, was charged with 16 offences including two counts of large commercial drug supply.

He was refused bail in Ballina Local Court on Thursday and will return to court later this month.

Shortly after the arrests at the service station, NSW Police executed three search warrants at Tweed and Evans Head.

Queensland Police also executed three search warrants on the Gold Coast on behalf of their southern counterparts.

Three people were arrested in NSW including Lindsay Mark Martin, 34, and Sarah Morrow, 48, both from Evans Head, and Scott Bradley Martin, 42, from Tweed.

Martin was charged with 19 firearm offences as well as a further count of possessing a prohibited drug.

He appeared in Tweed Heads Local Court on Thursday where he did not apply for bail. He will face court again later this month.

Morrow was charged with 11 offences including four counts of commercial drug supply.

She was refused bail in Ballina Local Court on Thursday and will return to court later this month.

Martin was charged with 12 offences including two counts of commercial drug supply. 

He was refused bail in Tweed Heads Local Court on Thursday and will return to court later this month.
