TWEED residents are likely in for a super-soaked summer according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather forecasts for December to February indicate that it'll be wet and rainy for the majority of the season, with a 60-75% chance of receiving above average rainfall.

Locals had better get used to the wet weather quickly, with the Bureau saying that showers are forecast for nearly all of next week.

The extra rainfall is due to warmer then usual waters in the Indian Ocean, while the Pacific Ocean is affecting the climate to a lesser degree.

Parents will be tearing their hair out at the news, as they deal with stir crazy kids stuck inside for the school holidays.

We talked to parents Luke Howden and Cristy Morse, and both said they were planning to use the Kidz Biz indoor play centre at South Tweed to take the pressure off and keep their kids entertained this summer.
