A Currumbin Valley actress who has doubled as Elsa Pataky will fight charges alleging she was at an anti-lockdown protest at the state border in 2021.
Ilana Collins previously pleaded not guilty in Tweed Heads Local Court to unlawfully participating in an outdoor gathering during a stay-at-home period.
It is alleged Ms Collins was among the thousands who marched up Boundary St in Tweed Heads and onto Griffith St Coolangatta on August 21, 2021, at about midday.
Self-representing Ms Collins was set to defend the charge at hearing on Thursday, however she did not attend.
The court heard she had sent an email the day before, which stated she was sick with the flu and requested an adjournment.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Nathan Lockett objected to the adjournment, saying there was insufficient evidence provided to the court to back up her claim of being sick.
One further adjournment was allowed for the hearing.
Ms Collins has credits for working as a stunt woman, most recently on Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis as well as in Tidelands as Elsa Pataky’s double.
She also starred in horror movie The Possessed alongside former Bachelorette Angie Kent and Lincoln Lewis.
Ms Collin’s matter was adjourned to September 6 in Murwillumbah Local Court for hearing.
She remains at liberty without bail.
