Ashley Sinclair Hulse has 41 charges withdrawn in gel blaster case

A Tweed Heads man charged with several weapons offences has had 41 withdrawn by the prosecution as he proceeds through the court process.
Ashley Sinclair Hulse’s matter was mentioned in Tweed Heads Local Court on July 16.
Police allege during a search warrant at a unit on Margaret St on September 4, 2020, they found three operational gel blaster hand guns – an item legal in Queensland but not New South Wales ‒ a large amount of firearms parts, a canister of Oleoresin Capsicum spray, a mobile phone containing significant communications relating to drug supply, 14 Suboxone strips and a laser pointer.
Last week the 27-year-old’s matter was committed to the Lismore District Court.
Mr Hulse was initially faced 47 charges, but now only six remain, including possessing more than three unregistered firearms and one is prohibited or a pistol, supplying prohibited drugs andpossessing prohibited drug and possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit as back up charges.
The charges dropped related to authorised firearm possession and possessing and supplying prohibited drugs.
No pleas have been entered.
Mr Hulse’s matter will next be mentioned in the Lismore District Court on August 16 where he is expected to appear.
His bail remains refused.
