Four more people have died from Covid-19 on the Mid and Far North Coast

Four Covid-19 deaths have been reported in Ballina, Pottsville and Coffs Harbour overnight while hospitalisations across the region have declined.

Two 80-year-old men from Ballina and Pottsville have died overnight from Covid-19.

Two more people in Coffs Harbour have also died overnight but there has been no details released on their age or gender.

Ten Covid patients have left Northern NSW hospitals while three have left Mid North Coast hospitals.

The Northern NSW Local Health District reported another 800 cases with 39 Covid-positive patients in hospital and five in intensive care (down from seven on Wednesday).

Tweed is experiencing the highest number of daily cases in the Northern NSW district at 246.

Byron Bay reported 59 cases, Ballina reported 47 while Clarence Valley and Lismore reported 44 and 26 cases overnight respectively.

There were 576 new cases reported by the Mid North Coast Local Health District with 57 people currently in hospital including three in the intensive care unit.

Patients in hospital and intensive care on the Mid-North Coast have remained steady over the last few days.

A total of 94 cases were reported in Coffs Harbour, 75 from Kempsey, 22 from Nambucca Valley and four from Bellingen.

All residents of the Mid and Far North Coast are encouraged to book a booster vaccination.

Bookings can be made three months after a second vaccination dose after wait times were reduced this week.

Thirty people died across New South Wales after another 20,148 new infections.

Hospitalisations across NSW grew in the last 24 hours with a total of 2,762 in hospital, 204 in intensive care and 70 requiring ventilation.
