SALT Village was the bearer of good news this Christmas, adding more than $2 million in property sales to Tweed real estate figures.

As a sign of growing confidence in the Tweed Coast property market, Salt Village recently closed two, million-dollar-plus home sales.

The two sales were a North Point Avenue property, which was bought for $1.56 million by a Brisbane purchaser, and a Shipstern Avenue home, sold for $1.12 million to a Gold Coast family.

The twin beachside sales followed a strong November during which agency Ray Real Estate posted its highest sales activity for the past year with $12 million in sales.

Both deals were negotiated by the newly re-badged and expanded successor to Salt Village Real Estate.

Ray Real Estate director and licensee Greg Allan said the two home sales were very heartening.

“We are definitely now seeing signs of the market coming back from the lows of earlier this year,” MrAllan said.

“Coming into the holiday season we are also entering what is traditionally the strongest period for sales and inquiry throughout Salt Village and Casuarina Beach, so we think the market is likely to continue to gather momentum from here on.”

Mr Allan said six beachside homes have now sold at Salt Village in recent weeks for a combined $9.5 million, along with two beachfront apartments in the Balé Peppers Resort for a collective $2.5 million and a luxury Peppers Resort apartment for more than $550,000.

According to Mr Allan, buyers of beachside homes in northern NSW and south east Queensland are more value-conscious than ever before.

“Salt Village’s top-end homes are still priced at about one third the level of comparable homes on the Gold Coast, in areas such as Mermaid Beach,” he said.

“People are realising that here they can get all the benefits of the higher-priced home further north at a much-lower cost and yet still be able to easily access jobs, schools and friends on the Gold Coast.

“We’re also seeing good activityat the more affordable end of themarket.”

Mr Allan said Ray Real Estate isactively seeking new listings to cater to the expected lift in buyer demandover the holiday season.
